I just got back from my first trip ever to London, Paris, and Biarritz. These two pictures, taken with my new Canon S95, sums up pretty much everything I have to say about this trip.
Everything old is new again. Lela Rose’s Spring ‘12 collection is a love-letter to the golden-era of Las Vegas. There are elements of nostalgia cherry-picked from the 50’s, 60’s, and 70’s, that work well together in this glamorous tour de force. Gibson’s side-parted twist is combined with spring smokey eyes and wild honey lips, inspired by effortless beauty in the desert.
Today, I got a sneak peek at “Harper’s Bazaar: A Decade of Style”, a brand-new photo exhibit hosted by the International Center of Photography. The Editor in Chief of Harper’s Bazzar, Glenda Bailey, was on hand to kickoff the event. She talked to us about her past ten years at Bazaar, having worked with iconic photographers like Patrick Demarchelier, Mark Seliger, and Peter Lindbergh. Listening to her speak enthusiastically about the creative process, and hearing her stories-behind-the-stories, was unexpectedly inspirational. The exhibit runs from Sept. 9 - Jan. 8, 2012.
